Slab Leak Repair in Cleveland
The slab is the concrete beneath your home that makes up the foundation. So many water pipes run through the foundation that it is possible for any one of them to receive damage due to ground movement, shifts, or natural corrosion. Cracks or holes in underlying pipes cause water to leak under the foundation, this is called a slab leak, and it can cause major water damage to your home and go from a small leak to a hazardous position to the structure of your home.
Significant increase in your water or electricity bill: if you notice that your water bill increases drastically, it is most likely due to a water leak.
Visible wet or damp stains on carpet or flooring: a slab leak can sometimes reach the flooring, creating noticeable spots or stains. Reduced water pressure: if you notice a decrease in water pressure, it may be caused by a slab leak. Settling of the foundation: when an actual shifting of the home’s foundation is felt, a slab leak may have occurred.
Re–Piping in Cleveland
When the time comes to replace every inch of water piping in your home, be it gray poly (more in “Plastic Pipe Repair” section), copper, or another material, we are your plumbers in the Cleveland Area. In this process, every single inch of the previous piping (usually gray poly) is removed from the home and replaced with either Stainless Steal, PEX, or copper (upon request). Every plumbing fixture receives new re piping; all faucets, toilets, tubs, showers, hose connections, your water heater, and every other fixture or appurtenance requiring water receives the piping of your choice. Our recommendation?
We will re-pipe in Stainless Steal, PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) or Copper if you prefer. This type of plastic water pipe is nearly identical to the black poly (more in “Waterlines” section) we use to install all of our new main water services. PEX is formulated to withstand hot water temperatures, is extremely flexible, and if you prefer, comes in red, blue, white and clear colors. We will also, if necessary, install a new pressure regulating valve, or PRV (more in “Pressure Valve installations” section) during the process.
Let’s imagine a pipe being used for sewage and water that’s been in place for 40+ years then let’s add the liquid drain cleaning element (Acid) to the old metal pipe. Needless to say, this is not a good mixture. In most cases, what you end up with is an old rusted pipe that the acid has eaten through. Granted, this isn’t the scenario in all cases, but it sure paints an ugly picture. We may be able to help. If the piping is in decent shape, Hydro Jetting is the most cost effective way of cleaning the drainage piping without going to the expense of demolition or replacement.
