Third floor men's room side by side sinks are both backed up. Went into the men's room on the second floor and removed the ceiling tiles to gain access to the pipes. Cut out a piece of the 11/2 galvanized piping and cleaned out the plugged section of the pipe with a metal blade. The vertical section of pipe was the part that was clogged. Replaced the removed section of piping with PVC and low flex bands. Drain is now flowing good.

12/21/10 On this day we were called out to snake out the 7th floor men's room double lavatories. Attempted with two different machines through a 11/2 clean out tee located above the cross fitting for these two lavatories. Drain would not open from here. Cut out a section of 11/2 galvanized line were the blockage was located and replaced with PVC. 7th floor sinks were now draining. George wanted to check the 6th floor sinks as well and these sinks were draining slow and George wanted to try drain cleaner first. 5th floor sinks were completely blocked up and we had to go below the cross fitting that catches the sinks and remove a section of pipe. Replaced this section with PVC and now the sinks are draining.

Drinking fountain on the 3rd floor was over flowing when the drinking fountains on the floor above were used. We cut in a 11/2 clean out tee and attempted to snaked the drain with a 1/4 cable. We ran 30 feet of cable down the drain which should be below the 2nd floor fountain and you would think the drain would be opened or the 2nd floor fountain would be backed up. After researching the drain line for these drinking fountains we found the following: 1. That the second floor drinking fountain had it's drain redirected to a 4 drain line. This is why we could not figure out why this drinking fountain was not backing up. 2. The first floor and basement fountains had been removed and capped. 3. The vertical drain line catches the fountains between the 3rd and 7th floor. 4. This vertical line was full of water. After carefully draining out the water so the carpet would not be damaged we cut in a 11/2 PVC clean out tee. While cutting into the line we found an 30 feet of old cable someone had broken off and left in the drain pipe. Once removed we snaked out the line 3 times with a 5/16 cable. Drinking fountains are now all draining properly.
